Káma-Kapúska! Making Marks in Indian Country, 1833–34

3 April 1834

The band of Íschohä-Kakoschóchatä [1, 2]* from Mih-Tutta-Hangkusch danced in the fort. Mató-Tópe led them on horseback and wore the máhchsi-akub-háschka on his head. There were eighteen to nineteen Indians—they were given knives, mirrors, and tobacco.
