Indexing

NCAW is listed in the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) and ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources). The journal and individual articles are indexed in Crossref (2016–present). Articles beginning with vol. 16, no. 1 (2017) are indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) of the Web of Science Core Collection. Articles are also indexed in EBSCO databases (Art & Architecture Source, Art & Architecture Complete, Art Index, Art Abstracts, Art Full Text [2002–11]), ProQuest databases (Humanities Index, International Bibliography of Art), IBZ Online (Internationale Bibliographie der geistes- und sozialwissenschaftlichen Zeitschriftenliteratur), and NINES (2002–6).

Archiving and Preservation

NCAW endeavors to preserve article content for future use and access by working with established digital archiving programs. Currently, the publication is actively archived by the New York Art Resources Consortium (NYARC) Web Archiving Program. NYARC’s web crawler captures the HTML version of each article, as well as images, audio, and video. Archived versions of NCAW are available here. Interactive components such as 3-D models, maps, and others, as well as some content hosted by the author or a third-party platform, are not captured. Some previous NCAW issues (2002–5) are included in the Global LOCKSS Network. NCAW actively seeks out additional digital-archiving programs in which to participate and will update this policy as new services are added. NCAW also encourages authors to deposit copies of their articles in institutional or discipline-specific repositories, such as Humanities Commons.
