Phylis Floyd is Associate Professor of Art History (Modern and
Contemporary) at Michigan State University. She is the author of
Seeking the Floating World: The Japanese Spirit in Turn-of-the-Century
French Art (exhibition catalogue, Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, 1989)
and has organized exhibitions and written on modern and contemporary art.
