Dear Ms. Van Nimmen:
I just wanted to write you to say I have read - with GREAT INTEREST - your fascinating and thorough article on the Henry van de Velde exhibitions held in 2013 in Europe. I read this in the 19th C. artworldwide online publication. You are to be much congratulated for a brilliant essay which I so much enjoyed! I am the curator of decorative arts, 1890 to the present, at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond. We do have some pieces by Van de Velde (in fact, our best piece is a silver centerpiece, with four candelabra, designed by VDV and most likely made for either the Grand Duke of Saxe Weimar's wedding, or as part of a service for the wedding of Marquise de Brion, Count Kessler's sister). This silver is published in the recent catalogue of the silver by VDV. We also have a very fine silver belt buckle, designed by VDV, which is one of only about 3 very rare works (also published in the silver catalogue of VDV).
What else are you publishing, as I find your work thrilling? Perhaps you can kindly email me your list of publications? Once I have your email, I can also email you some color photos of our decorative arts galleries (8,600 square feet with over 420 objects).
