Carol Forman Tabler teaches courses in the history of nineteenth-century European and American art at the C. W. Post Campus of Long Island University. She received her doctorate at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, in 1996. Her dissertation topic was "The Landscape Paintings of Antoine Vollon (18331900): A Catalogue and an Analysis." She has published articles on aspects of Vollon's life and works and is compiling a catalogue of the artist's oeuvre. She is the curator of an exhibition on painting and drawing in nineteenth-century France that opens in September 2002 at the Heckscher Museum, Huntington, New York.
